About Me

 

Michael Anthony Scott delivers his comedic perspective with an authentic, free-form style on everything from politics, current events, black life on the streets, dating, and plastic surgery, to tips on how to avoid being laid-off, situations that require the implementation of "emergency black," and his take on other relevant societal issues.

 

 "The Black" Michael Anthony Scott (so not to be confused with Michael Scott of "The Office"), provides his astute observations on everyday life, without going for the easy ridicule, and instead finding the precious humanity in everyone.

 

Michael's stand-up originality has been captured at featured Comedy Festivals, including: The Lexington Comedy Festival (Thunder Bay, Canada), where he won an award placing him among the top performing comedians; The World Series of Comedy (Winnipeg, Canada); Comics On The Corner Fest (Toronto, Canada); BurBank Comedy Festival (Burbank, CA); IO West Improv Fest (Hollywood, CA); LaffFest (Hollywood, CA); Ventura Harbor Comedy Festival (Ventura Harbor, CA); Stand Up Scottsdale (Scottsdale, CA), and he is was a finalist in the 2015 Cabo Comedy Festival (Cabo San Juan, Mexico).

 

Michael performs locally in the Los Angeles area, and is well-known for his "truth as he sees it," stand-up at events at The Hollywood Improv; Flappers - Burbank; The Laugh Factory, and; The Comedy Store.

 

Michael also specializes in writing and directing comedic hip-hop musicals, and has participated in film festivals for "You Ain't Gotta Lie Craig," "Willie Makit," and "The Golden Mic."

 

Even though Michael's first passion is stand-up, he has made cameo appearances on the prime time television shows "NYPD BLUE," "American Dreams," and "What Would You Do?"
